MONOGRAMM (Negatraz x *Monogramma)

Sire of WN Star of Antigua

Monogramm, the sire of WN Star of Antigua, is a well- known and celebrated stallion. He has been at the forefront of the Arabian breed as the Leading Sire of International Champions in Halter and Performance. Below is a list of his accomplishments:

United States Reserve National

Champion Futurity Colt

United States Top Ten Stallion

Regional Champion Stallion

Scottsdale Top Ten Stallion

Buckeye Top Eight Stallion

Pacific Slope Top Five Stallion

Scottsdale Champion Purebred Get of Sire

Santa Barbara Champion Get of Sire

Champion Park Horse

MONOGRAMM is without argument, a phenomenal show horse and outstanding sire - the superlative global ambassador for Arabian type, trot, quality and charisma.

Even today, this sire is considered one of the most dynamic show horses of all time. Monogramm characterizes for many Arabian enthusiasts a near model image of the perfect Arabian stallion. His well-known features are his charismatic presence, supreme quality, a show stopping trot and undeniably one the most beautiful and flawlessly sculpted heads ever seen on an Arabian stallion. Add to these traits a magnificently shaped, perfectly arched neck, physically powerful coupling, exceptional tail carriage and a powerful, ground covering stride, and it is easy to appreciate why Monogramm was always the crowd favorite as soon as he hit the ring.

The qualities above are what piqued the attention of the Polish breeders during Monogramm's most outstanding bid for National Champion Stallion. Awed as they were with his phenotype, they were equally enthusiastic about his impeccable pedigree, as Monogramm represented the perfect opportunity to finally incorporate the blood of *Bask back into the Polish breeding program after over thirty years since his exportation to North America. A two-year lease was negotiated with Michalow State Stud in Poland and under the masterful guidance of Director Ignacy Jaworowski, Monogramm began siring the first of his Polish-bred foals in 1994. After two years at stud, and several more seasons with frozen semen, Monogramm has given Michalow an unprecedented number of world-class offspring, many of whom have dominated the European show scene. Just five years after their European debut, the Monogramm get swept the World Championships at the Salon du Cheval in 2000, winning the titles of: World Champion Stallion - Ekstern; World Champion Mare - Zagrobla; World Reserve Champion Mare - Kwestura; as well as World Junior Champion Filly -Emmona. Never before has one stallion been the sire of an astounding FOUR World Champions. This unprecedented accomplishment is likely to remain unchallenged well into the next century, if indeed it is challenged at all. Add to that the pride of winning yet again in 2001 with Fallada as World Reserve Champion Mare and highest point score of the entire show; back to back European Mare Championships with Kwestura and Zagrobla; consecutive All Nations Cup Mare Championship honors with Kwestura and Zagrobla; European, All Nations Cup and Polish National Champion Stallion titles for Ekstern; as well as Polish National Champion and All Nations Cup Reserve Champion Stallion wins for Ganges and it is apparent that Monogramm and Michalow are on a major roll.

Monogramm's significance as a sire is most apparent in Poland, where Monogramm must rightly be considered one of the greatest sires in the history of Polish breeding. What he was able to accomplish in just two seasons at only one of the State Studs is nothing short of legendary. As his grandsire *Bask was able to raise the standard of Arabians in North America in 60’s, Monogramm was able to breathe new life into an already stellar breeding program, and establish an unparalleled level of excellence not only in Poland, but in all of Europe. Much praise has been lauded upon the Monogramm daughters, as they are undeniably the most beautiful group of mares to be found anywhere in Poland, Europe and perhaps the entire world.

Monogramm has been amazingly prepotent. He consistently stamps his foals with: model Arabian type with especially dry and beautifully sculpted heads; length, leanness and wonderfully graceful suppleness through the throatlatch and poll; an abundance of show ring charisma, confidence and that intangible quality we define as “presence”; a superior level of quality and refinement; and that trademark Monogramm animated and ground-covering trot. These are very much the traits that describe Monogramm the individual – that he is able to transmit these qualities with remarkable consistency across a broad range of genotypes and phenotypes (in the mares he has covered) is his true legacy to the Arabian breed.

The Monogramm influence is spreading around the world through his Polish-bred get, with over 95 champions and counting in nearly 20 countries across the globe, including 45 National winners and 67 champions at the Regional level. Monogramm’s success as a sire across several diverse and demanding disciplines is most impressive. He has sired winners at the Regional and National level in virtually every discipline in which Arabian horses compete: English Pleasure, Country English Pleasure, Pleasure Driving, Country Pleasure Driving, Western Pleasure, Hunter Pleasure, Ladies Sidesaddle, Show Hack, Native Costume, Dressage, Working Hunter, Jumpers, Reining, Working Cow Horse, Equitation, Walk/Trot, Western Horsemanship, Sport Horse in Hand and Sport Horse Under Saddle. Not only have his get scored major wins in the open divisions of nearly all these divisions, they have been equally successful in the all important Amateur Owner and Junior Owner divisions. This, perhaps more than anything else, is the greatest testament to Monogramm’s ability to sire trainable, highly adaptable and versatile Arabians. Add to this list, several stakes winners and stakes placed horses at the racetrack along with a handful of promising endurance competitors and you have the portrait of a sire for all reasons.

At 23 years of age, Monogramm has achieved exactly what was expected of him by many of the world's leading horsemen. He was a superior show.

A special thanks to the owners of Bishop Lane Farm and Monogramm for allowing us to use the above information regarding this magnificient stallion.

Versace

VERSACE  (Fame VF x Precious AS Gold)

3/11/95 - 02/15/08

Versace was a prominent and dependable sire of champions.
He was born 3/11/95 and passed away 2/15/08.

Versace's owners Dr. Robert Williams and John Brown of Rojo Arabians said that his stomach ruptured, evidently from a colic that happened during the night.

His accomplishments as a significant sire in the Arabian horse world are incredible.

Versace's dam was the beautiful *El Shaklan daughter, Precious As Gold, and was one of the most important mares in the breed.  In 1995, Precious As Gold foaled a spectacular bay colt by National Champion Stallion Fame VF named Versace for his extreme style and beauty. Versace became the Region 12 Champion and U.S. National Top Ten Yearling Colt.

From those wins, Versace went on to earn additional regional, Buckeye, and U.S. National show ring honors.   As quickly as Versace won, he promptly made a name for himself as a significant sire. At the 2000 Scottsdale show, the incredible Versace sired three of the four Junior Championships and Reserves.

After 2000 knowledgeable owners and breeders lined up for the opportunity to breed their very best to the breathtaking stallion that consistently added his exquisiteness and correct conformation to each mare.

At the 2000 U.S. National Show, Versace made Arabian breed history by becoming the youngest sire, of a U.S. National Champion.  That colts name is the legendary DA Valentino!

Since then, the wins by Versace's offspring, both in halter and under saddle, have consistently placed him in the upper echelon of leading sires.

Versace's prominence as a dependable sire of champions quickly created an enormous demand for his great offspring.

We are proud to have Versace's genetics in our pedigree for Love of Valentino!

WN STAR OF ANTIGUA  (Monogramm x WN Antigua)

2002 grey stallion

Sire of Prince of Antigua

WN Star of Antigua has a prestigious heritage and was chosen to sire the 2008 foal out of Pashahnata. This handsome stallion’s dam was the most exotically beautiful superstar ever known to grace the show ring. Her name was WN Antigua who was proudly owned and bred by Wayne Newton of Aramus Arabians.

Since the inception of Aramus Arabians, Wayne Newton’s breeding program had definite goals and set out to accomplish something very special. WN Antigua achieved his highest dreams. She was sired by the Spanish-bred Arabian *GG Samir, and out of a daughter of *Naborr who was out of one of Wayne Newton earliest acquisitions, Sura Joy (by Sureyn), a U. S. National Reserve Champion Formal Driving Champion. GG Samir has sired National winners on three continents.

Foaled in 1983, WN Antigua was representative of the *GG Samir progeny. She was recognized as a late bloomer, with extreme elegance and refinement. Antigua’s wins are too numerous to mention… her most prestigious were: 1989, WN Antigua became Canadian National Champion Mare. Also in 1989 and 1991, she overwhelmingly swept the Scottsdale Open Mare Championships and won the hearts of many who watched. In 1991, WN Antigua was honored as U. S. National Reserve Champion Mare. This exotic and classy mare was first led into open classes by Alfredo Ortega and later by David Boggs of Midwest Training Center.

Those who knew this exquisite mare recognized how much heart she had and loved her immensely. WN Antigua and Erin Newton were the crowd favorite in 1995, and won the amateur title.

The beloved WN ANTIGUA went to greener pastures in May 2004 due to complications from colic.
